lyrics

THE COLLECTOR By Dan Blakeslee

Money takes me from my family. My swollen eyes the mirror shows to me. The canvas and my mind have turned to black. If I chase it down it still attacks.

I fill the walls of my Mothers wooden house. I'd like to get the but I can't get out. I'd scatter flowers all across her lawn, the kind that will bloom early in the dawn.

Christopher let's cycle round the lake. Just our smiles and cameras we'll take. I know that winter gets ahold of you. I though you'd like to know it takes me too.

Father let's now take that Sunday drive. Sail upon the seas and feel alive. Now you only live eight miles from me. So why are you someone I hardly see.

Jonathan I'm glad you're finally home. Though in March it's your brother who will roam. When I return let's talk about the west. I've something for you deep inside my chest.

My wife I know that I lay next to you. Though you feel the sheets before I do. Tonight we'll go out for a promised walk. Please take my hands from inside the clock.

Money takes me from my family. My swollen eyes the mirror shows to me. The canvas and my mind have turned to black if I chase it down it will return attack.

Let me for once catch up to you. In years let's say I've given you a few. When my family calls me to their side. I can let it go and take a ride.
