about

This is an album of the demos leading up to recording "Tatnic Tales" at Dean Ludington's barn in North Berwick, Maine. The sole purpose of these frill free recordings was to be shared with those involved with "Tatnic Tales" the album. Welcome to the behind the scenes glimpse to what was one of my favorite and most memorable recording experiences to date. -Dan Blakeslee 05/07/21

Enormous thanks to Dean Ludington who owns Serious Farm in North Berwick, Maine whom without "Tatnic Tales" would not even exist. To Ron Harrity who didn't bat an eyelash when I asked him to record my band and I in Dean's barn for "Tatnic Tales" the album. To my family and friends who I grew up with in an enchanted part of Maine known as Tatnic, The Calabash Club (Mike Effenberger, Nick Phaneuf, Jim Rudolf), Jonathan Blakeslee, Joseph Arnold, Jon Nolan, Guy Capecelatro III, Michael Manning, Chris Decato and Kramer.

Please listen to the album "Tatnic Tales" which these demos are a companion to!

Dan Blakeslee Kennebunkport, Maine

With a suitcase of songs, Maine folk troubadour Dan Blakeslee ventured into the subways of Boston in 1995 to practice his craft. His songs of true life adventures combine the essence of early folk music with a dose of country grit. In 2015 his dream of playing Newport Folk Festival became a reality, where Bob Dylan went electric 50 years earlier. His band release "Christmasland Jubilee" on 12.1.20 ... more
