BOUQUET ON A WINTERS NIGHT - By Dan Blakeslee Bouquet on a winters night for my love. Im driftin' in the moonlight draped in gold. My fortune it matters not to my love for empty pockets I have got and a hold on luck. A winter carnival inside your room. Where lovers dream spoon harboring the moon. Through the night I took a walk for my love. Found beauty in a withered stalk crowned in snow. I'm harvesting the cat tails, for my love. While she lay under night sails the stars erupt. A winter carnival inside your room. Where lovers dream spoon harboring the moon. I'm free of winters harness because my love wove a blanket of her kindness a story told. Now I'm blowin' kisses though the screen to my love. While branches coil and preen so, grows my love...

THE COLLECTOR By Dan Blakeslee Money takes me from my family. My swollen eyes the mirror shows to me. The canvas and my mind have turned to black. If I chase it down it still attacks. I fill the walls of my Mothers wooden house. I'd like to get the but I can't get out. I'd scatter flowers all across her lawn, the kind that will bloom early in the dawn. Christopher let's cycle round the lake. Just our smiles and cameras we'll take. I know that winter gets ahold of you. I though you'd like to know it takes me too. Father let's now take that Sunday drive. Sail upon the seas and feel alive. Now you only live eight miles from me. So why are you someone I hardly see. Jonathan I'm glad you're finally home. Though in March it's your brother who will roam. When I return let's talk about the west. I've something for you deep inside my chest. My wife I know that I lay next to you. Though you feel the sheets before I do. Tonight we'll go out for a promised walk. Please take my hands from inside the clock. Money takes me from my family. My swollen eyes the mirror shows to me. The canvas and my mind have turned to black if I chase it down it will return attack. Let me for once catch up to you. In years let's say I've given you a few. When my family calls me to their side. I can let it go and take a ride.

HE CANNOT TAKE ME By Dan Blakeslee At times I think he's got my tongue when night takes the radiant sun. The devil cannot take my soul away. Though my thoughts are sometimes dark, the deepest black without a spark. The devil cannot take my soul away. His silent armies and his spies will not get behind my eyes. The devil cannot take my soul away. Tonight his spell lies in the air. My goodness flanks his brooding glare. The devil cannot take my soul away.

SHIFTING OF SANDS By Dan Blakeslee Mother I've not written you one. Carefully you carried me when you were so young. There's something I've been meaning to say. I've held my breath with a loaded toungue. Here it is from the heart of your son. I treasure you for all of my days. You showed me the leisure of living chainless and free. It measures in a mountain of sketches and songs. I have the pleasure of being your son. When you planted that birch in the front yard. Made a cradle of dirt with your hand. The kindness and love you gave made it stem. You led it through the ageless shifting of sands. You led me through the shifting of sands. I treasure you for all of my days. You showed me the leisure of living chainless and free. It measures in a mountain of sketches and songs. I have the pleasure of being your son.
5.
THE OLIVE TREE By Dan Blakeslee An olive tree for you my love a vineyard for the wine. Every plant with love by hand from my heart the vine. A lion for to lie beside bring comfort while you dream. I'll give to you the very sun from my heart the beam. A pair of wings for you to soar with hawks and birds of song. For within my heart you will forever linger long. Far beyond the hands of time you will linger long...

POWER OUTAGE PANIC By Dan Blakeslee Pitch black dark shack the powers gone. I've one sense down and I cannot wait till dawn. Deep night flashlight from on down the hall, frozen on the floorboards I hear my baby call. Daniel, won't you shine that light on me. Power outage panic let me be! I cried, stove died, what am I gonna chew? Half cooked taters I curse the fuse that blew! No dice, card vice, I have lost all week. Only when the powers out luck will break that streak. Daniel, won't you shine that light on me. Power outage panic set my baby free... let's panic... Dark Street cold feet, bottles out the door. My city ditty won't take long there's just a little more. It's a short song, not long, power outage send. Voltage through the wires and let this panic end.
8.
THE REAL DECOY By Dan Blakeslee You seem to be living on certainties side. Your plate lacks a feast just a garnish of pride. In wide open spaces you sit like a duck. Is this mccoy just a decoy? Look in real close for your guardians are ghosts. Beware of the fool that's taken by gold.
9.
TIN ANGEL TALKIN By Dan Blakeslee I'm asking for help from the tin angel. From high over the tree, how far can you see? Is she lost in the forest? Looking for me? Its almost Christmas, the snow has arrived. I've been rearranging... so take a look inside. All around the room I've been hanging bows and bells, they're calling for you only. Good news they'll tell. All across the land, I'll be sending bows and bells. You will even hear them whispering through the walls inside a shell.

FROZE FOR YOU By Dan Blakeslee With the moon on your skin, my head was full of sand. I covered your feet with my shirt. At the risk of appearing scared I buried my emotions there. I covered your feet with my shirt. Tried to rest by the oceans mouth but it always speaks so loud. I covered your feet with my shirt. With the deafening hum of the boats, the diesel that curbed my sleep. I covered your feet with my shirt. I froze for you. I froze for you. I froze... If you need someone to throw a line I'll save you every time. I covered your feet with my shirt. I froze for you... I froze for you... I froze...

IN THE GARDEN OF ICE by Dan Blakeslee Just to watch you on the ice is to nestle in the wing of a snowy dove. Forgetting all your worries while he sings. Great masters have surrendered, found your line could not be traced. Though Rodin's sculpture ponders, his thought's have been erased. Just to watch you on the ice, brighter than a diamond shines. A thief once tried to claim you, now you've left that poor man blind. Once a poet tried to capture your essence down in rhyme. He lost his words within your grace now on the breeze they climb...
